VDP Staffs Up Ahead of 2024 Election

June 26, 2024 (Montpelier, VT) - The Vermont Democratic Party announced the hiring of Jack Pitblado as Organizing Director for the 2024 Coordinated Campaign and Erin Stoetzner as Senate Caucus Director today.

“Jack’s hustle is unmatched and Erin is sharp and passionate,” said VDP Executive Director Jim Dandeneau. “As a veteran of the VPIRG Canvass, Jack knows organizing, knows Vermont, and has the tireless drive to help us win seats up and down the ballot and around the state. Erin’s experience in the statehouse and with Mayor Weinberger gives her the on the ground knowledge and people skills necessary to protect our Senate caucus. ”

As Organizing Director, Jack will be working with candidates and Democratic officials to talk to voters in every corner of Vermont. He will be integrating the Balint Organizing Corps with field efforts from campaigns and local parties to activate grassroots support and protect Democratic supermajorities in both legislative chambers, as well as build infrastructure for statewide Democratic candidates.

Erin’s role as Senate Caucus Director sees her working with Senate candidates around the state to expand their ability to communicate effectively with their voters and constituents, and to support them with the resources they need to win. She will be collaborating with Democratic activists to ensure that Democrats from the Northeast Kingdom to Bennington have what they need to be successful in November.

Jack recently graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in Political Science and Philosophy. He has a passion for movement building, having gotten his start in organizing with the March for Our Lives Movement of 2018 in his home state, Connecticut. Since then, Jack has worked as an organizer for CT Governor Ned Lamont, he worked for and assisted in directing VPIRG’s 2023 Canvass, and has worked for the Vermont House Campaign since October in preparation for the 2024 election season.

“I’m excited to take this next step with the VDP,” said Pitblado. “We’ve got a lot of work to do, but we’ve got great candidates, fantastic support from the team, and a strong record of victories for Vermonters, so all the fundamentals for success are there.”

Erin spent this past legislative session working in the statehouse as a session assistant for Morris Strategies. Prior to her work in Montpelier, Erin worked for Mayor Miro Weinberger, focusing on constituent communications, municipal event planning, policy research, project management, and social media management. She's also worked on a congressional campaign for Massachusetts Representative Richard Neal and as a legal assistant for the Vermont Judiciary.

Erin graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with her M.P.P. in Public Policy and her B.A. in Legal Studies. Erin moved to Burlington in the fall of 2021, and has found her home in Vermont ever since.

“I’m excited to help elect Senators who represent Democratic values,” said Stoetzner. “This election is pivotal for Vermont and our country, and I’m excited to do my part to elect people to the state Senate who prioritize affordable housing, accessible health care, clean energy, and quality public education.”
