THE VERMONT DEMOCRATIC PARTY REACTS TO FORMER PRESIDENT TRUMP’S 2024 ANNOUNCEMENT
Montpelier, VT – The Vermont Democratic Party will do everything in its power to ensure that our country is never again subjected to a Donald Trump presidency.
Says VDP Chair Anne Lezak, “Donald Trump used his presidency to undermine democratic values and trust in our institutions, hollow out the agencies designed to protect the American people, install anti-science, self-dealing, unqualified people in high places, and supplant presidential leadership with demagoguery, threats, and cruelty. He continues to glorify racism, misogyny, white nationalism, and anti-democratic conspiracy theories as he did throughout his years in power.”
Vermonters will never support Donald Trump as he continues down his destructive path, promoting falsehoods and divisiveness. The Midterm Election results show that Trump’s influence, both in Vermont and nationally, is very much diminished. His 2024 presidential bid will only highlight how unfit he is to serve.
