The Vermont Democratic Party is looking to hire a Rutland Regional Organizing Director for our 2024 coordinated campaign.

 

Overview:

 

Regional Organizing Directors (RODs) will be responsible for spearheading our grassroots operations throughout a region within the State, reporting to the Coordinated Campaign Organizing Director. They’re expected to drive voter contact goals; developing relationships with key leaders and allies from across a variety of constituencies; coordinating, training, and developing teams of top-tier part-time field organizers, lead volunteers, and interns; and working with the VDP team on strategic earned media events. RODs will be full participants in the staff team - engaging regularly in strategy sessions, trainings, and team meetings. Our ROD will be assigned to manage a field office in Rutland county, and will be held accountable to reaching stated voter and volunteer contact goals in the Rutland/Windsor/Bennington regions.

 

What We're Looking For:

1. Flexibility and willingness to work long hours for the campaign.

2. Proven recruitment skills, with experience identifying, training, and motivating large teams of
grassroots organizers, volunteers, and community leaders.

3. Possesses the skills needed for leadership development and team management--to delegate
work and responsibility in rapid-response environments while intentionally developing the skills
of part-time field organizers and individual volunteer leaders.

4. Disciplined professionalism--ideal candidates will be timely, hardworking, ready to work long,
often irregular hours in fast-paced environments to get the job done, and consistently able to
convey a professional tone to volunteers, supporters, voters, and fellow staffers.

Other skills/experience that will be helpful in the role are:

1. Knowledge of the political landscape in Vermont.
2. Experience with voter contact practices – knowledge of canvassing and phone banking best
practices.
3. Proficiency with Google suite and the ability to quickly grasp voter contact programs are a must.
4. Residence in proximity to Rutland City, VT.

Full-time RODs will receive a salary of $3,600 per month. Please send a resume and 3 references
